3D Printing with Polyjet Technology
How it works
You probably know about 3D printing by now and have a rough understanding on how it works (Or you can refer here for an overview).
Like always, it is an additive manufacturing technology which prints layer-by-layer, but instead of using filament, it uses photo polymer liquid resins. The materials are constantly cured by UV light during the printing process to ensure it overlaps on one another correctly. These fine layers build up to create a precise 3D model or prototype, and it is ready to handle use right out of printing with no post-processes required.
For example, this is a project which we collaborated with Kakiseni in 3D printing the Monarch Butterfly trophies:
*If you’d noticed, the support materials were washed away easily in the first picture.
Color and Multi-Material 3D Printing
Polyjet 3D Printing technology offers an astonishingly fine detail, smooth surfaces, speed and precision. Most important of all, it works with a wide range of materials which includes rigid opaque in hundreds of vibrant colors to clear tinted translucent materials, rubber-like materials and materials that are compatible for dental and medical industries.
The Objet series is capable of combining diverse materials for printing in a single build. This means you are capable of selectively position multiple materials in one single print or even creating composite digital materials with various materials. Our recent Connex3 is the most advanced multi-color, multi-material 3D printer, you can refer to here.
With hundreds of digital material combinations and colors to choose from, PolyJet technology gives you better final-product realism than any other 3D printing method.
